Give Peace A Chance

Posted by Marcah (Quincy, United States) on 12 January 2009 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio.

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one
~John Lennon

This speaks volumes! The texture gives it a look of promise...sad, but perhaps there is hope. Love this.

Jean-François writes "What a great work for Peace" and I do agree like all those who already commented : good treatment, beautiful tones, really well adaptated to the subject : daring is the key, no subject can't be treat if we're sincere and this harsh one, treated with your delicate eye is powerful in its message. The chimney in the background is real perturbating (and great too for that reason). Great work, M*

Un paix bien malade en ce début d'année. Des photos comme la tienne nous rappelle nos engagement d'être humain face à la barbarie. La symbolique de ta photo est extraordinaire et développe une puissance énorme. Un magnifique plaidoyer en faveur de la paix

A powerful image and beautiful words to accompany it. Too bad the people of most nations aren't smart enough to elect leaders that would allow the world to be as one.

Great tribute to Peace Marc ! A powerful image indeed. John Lennon's song fits so well. The words are so... true. Unfortunately.

Not many right wingers on here I guess, or they're keeping silent. Perhaps my favorite Lennon song, but those ten short lines conjure up all the right-wing bugaboos (secularism, peaceniks, hippies, world government, the UN, liberals, anti-nationalism, etc). In any case, no one running any government is ever going to allow the mass of people to believe there is nothing to kill or die for because their power over us would disappear. This whole planet and every country in it operates on the principle that those who are insufficiently like "us" have inferior claims to life.
